What is your ultimate career goal?

To enjoy my job to the extent that it doesn’t seem like a job.  I would love to work for the National Park Service, or a similarly oriented agency or organization.  If I can spend my days outdoors, helping people appreciate the value and beauty of their surroundings, I would consider this a life well spent.

If you could be any animal, which would you choose and why?

I would choose to be a turtle; that way, I would always have my home with me, wherever I decide to go.

Favorite holiday and why?

Earth Day, of course!  I like taking time to appreciate our home planet.

What is the one thing you absolutely want to do before you die?

See the Aurora Borealis

COURTNEY LUENSMAN

Does Bigfoot exist?

Certainly.  I have the utmost faith in his ability to evade us.  Plus, I saw some giant footprints down by Furnace Run.

If you could be any animal, which would you choose and why?

A spider because I’ve disliked them my entire life and if I was one, I’d have better empathy for them and understanding.  Maybe even develop a fondness.

Three fun facts:

I speak Swahili, I ran in the Chicago marathon, my favorite tree is the Burr Oak.

What is the one thing you absolutely want to do before you die?

Be a light-keeper in a light house

CHRIS ZISKA

School/Major: Ohio Wesleyan University- Zoology

If you could be any animal, which would you choose and why?

I would be a lobster, because when I die I would become amazing lobster bisque.

If you were a superhero designed to combat one issue of environmental injustice, what issue would it be and what would your alias be?

Roadkill!!! And my alias would be Revengeful Roady!  I would save animals all the time and stop unneeded animal death.

If you could travel back in time to any time, where would you go?

1987 so I could enjoy all that amazing 80s music! I could see Genesis, Bad Company, Foreigner, Tito…even the Bengals!

Does Bigfoot exist?

Of course!  Just look at the movie Harry!  That is real life.

What is the one thing you absolutely want to see before you die?

Visit every continent.

What is your ultimate career goal?

To be the next Bill Nye and have a science TV show.

Favorite holiday and why?

Thanksgiving= best food and large portions

Yes, he is an avid recycler, and poses as Michael Phelps.

If you could travel back in time to any time, where would you go?

I would travel to a time before Christopher Columbus so I could see how the Native Americans lived before colonization.

Favorite holiday and why?

Halloween.  I hate scary movies but Halloween is a great time to dress up and decorate!  Also, I love pumpkin pie.

What is the one thing you absolutely want to see before you die?

Go to the west coast and visit the Rocky Mountians.

Three fun facts:

I can speak Spanish (supposedly), I met Taylor Lautner once, and I have been singing in a choir since 2nd grade.

That’s for sure.  If not, why are there 28,000,000 pages on Google about it?

I once lived in a tent for half a year, my bicycle’s name is Pepa, and when I was in elementary school I used to draw comic books about heroes.

If you could be any animal, which would you choose and why?

Crane, because they are very noble birds which spend a lot of time near water and in the air.

What is your ultimate career goal?

To do something useful.

BARBORA KALAVSKA

If you could be any animal, which would you choose and why?

One of our cats, because they don’t have to do anything; just eating, sleeping, and walking in the garden.

If you were a superhero designed to combat one issue of environmental injustice, what issue would it be and what would your alias be?

Super cleaner!  If somebody threw away garbage in nature, I would teleport it back to their house.

My first word I spoke as a baby was “flower,” I learned to ride a bike at age 17, and my wedding (to Martin) was in a meadow under a tree- all the guests had to walk 3 kilometers to get to it.

Find the secret of happiness.

I play the tuba, I was a stage manager for 4 years, and I worked 3 years of CVEEC summer camps.

What is the one thing you absolutely want to see before you die?

Publish something.

Does Bigfoot exist?

Probably not, where are all the baby littlefoots?

If you were a superhero designed to combat one issue of environmental injustice, what issue would it be and what would your alias be?

Water woman.  I would help supply clean water to those who need it while also saving the lakes from being depleted.

If you could travel back in time to any time, where would you go?

The Tokungawa period in Japan, specifically Kyaj.

What is your ultimate career goal?

To be a superintendent, like my dad.

If you could be any animal, which would you choose and why?

A dolphin; they are super smart, athletic, and protect people from sharks.

What is the one thing you absolutely want to see before you die?

Swim with sharks.

A grizzly bear.  Eat all day and sleep all winter.  What could be better?

I was on slime-time Nickelodeon, I recently discovered I am a bigger nerd that I realized, and I am an NCAA national swimming championship qualifier.

The Jurassic; who doesn’t want to see dinos?

The injustice of bees dying unexpectedly.  “The Pollinator”

KARIE CHARLTON

School/Major: Ashland University- Environmental Science/Biology

What is the one thing you absolutely want to see before you die?

Visit every single one of the 397 National Park Sites.  It will happen…maybe.

Does Bigfoot exist?

He has to.  Based on the size of my own feet, I would say I have to be a descendent of his.

Three fun facts:

I was born in the beautiful state of Michigan, I am getting married in August 2013, and I can name almost every tree in the forest by both common and scientific name.

What is your ultimate career goal?

I want to work outside and around people.  I would like it to be at CVNP or a nature center in Ohio!

JULIA KOKAVEC

What is the one thing you absolutely want to see before you die?

I would love to travel to Africa and go on a safari and/or go someplace to see a moose in the wild and/or open a coffee shop.  I love coffee.

If you were a superhero designed to combat one issue of environmental injustice, what issue would it be and what would your alias be?

My superhero name would be Java Girl.  I would fight deforestation and help people grow coffee beans sustainably.  My alias would be myself working in a coffee shop.

I have a crazy obsession with moose and coffee, I grew up on a farm, and I can quote Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, and How I Met Your Mother- the best t.v. shows ever.

I became a vegetarian in 2nd grade after reading Charlotte’s Web, I earned Jr. Ranger badges from many National Parks as a kid, and this is my third year at the CVEEC.

My birthday!! I always had the best birthday parties growing up.

What is the one thing you absolutely want to do before you die?

Own a lake house and invite all my family and friends.

A flamingo!  They are pink and awesome.
